I stopped by Sola Salon Studios for the first time this morning. Wow – what an empowering and inviting space!  Sola Salon provides professional stylists with a studio space so that these individuals are able to experience the freedom and benefits of salon ownership. When I walked into the space, I was greeted by a screen that shared the location of each stylist. Above each studio is a number that corresponds to the screen. I knocked on Suite #11 and met Kay.

Kay welcomed me into her studio so I could see and learn more about the experience. The space was beautifully decorated and painted in my (and Kay’s!) favorite color, purple. It felt homey with adorable décor, snacks and beverages.

Kay has been with Sola Salons at Legacy Village since March 2022. She designed her studio to fit her and her clients’ needs. Kay specializes in Natural Hair Services, Vibrant Hair Color, Braid Styles, Loc Maintenance, Makeup Application and Brow Shaping for men, women and children.

Kay is from Warrensville and has been doing hair since she was a teenager. She was introduced to cosmetology by her godmother and started doing her own hair at a young age, along with her friends and family. She was inspired by music and browsing through magazines. Kay is available for appointments Tuesday through Thursday from 9am to 6pm and on Friday and Saturdays from 9am to 3pm.
