Establishes reimagined store design direction for the brand
LYNDHURST, OH (April 26, 2019) – The new two-story, 20,000 square-foot Arhaus Flagship store at Legacy Village will open Friday, May 3. Located across the street from their current location, the store will be an inspiring retail experience with unique juxtapositions and uses of natural materials as well as a design that is intended to maximize and celebrate the natural light. New customer conveniences include a flower shop where fresh floral and arrangements can be purchased daily, a dedicated Small Spaces section to help inspire those with smaller home footprints, and a new expanded Design Center where customers can customize products to make them truly their own. The rooftop patio is a new feature helping customers imagine what is possible for their outdoor living spaces.
Store design adds to customer experience
“The new Arhaus store at Legacy Village incorporates seriously intentioned architecture into the retail store design,” said renowned Project Designer Philip Michael Brown. “The approach to the design is synonymous with how an architect would typically approach the design of an art museum or any cultural building project. Critical to achieving this end is the appropriation of natural materials – in this case regional limestone, weathered corten steel panels and oil rubbed Brazilian Walnut – as well as designing a façade with enough depth and volume to allow the play of light and shadow.
“The overall character of the new Arhaus Flagship store at Legacy Village is an example of what can be referred to as ‘Contemporary Contextual’ design. This approach reflects an extreme respect for materiality, craftsmanship, and sensitivity to the context as critical components of design practice,” Brown added.
John Reed, Chairman & CEO of Arhaus, shares “This will be a theatrical experience. We are creating a place for customers to come and get inspired. The space is open with lots of glass where we are taking full advantage of bringing as much natural light into the space. What excites me most is the mix of materials. We are taking natural materials and showing them in a more contemporary way. We continue to be a fashion leader in the country with regards to design and use of materials. We also are leaders in bringing truly handmade products to our customers and continuing with our commitment to maintain a green business where we use responsibly sourced and reclaimed materials whenever possible.”
Located next to BRIO and Bar Louie, the company has had a store at the lifestyle center since 2004.The Legacy Village store’s close proximity to Arhaus company headquarters will allow it to showcase unique offerings for customers where Arhaus can test and launch new products and store experiences. Arhaus is headquartered in Boston Heights, Ohio, and has more than 70 stores across the U.S.
The Arhaus Flagship store’s Legacy Village location enables the company to continue to work with its long-standing partner, First Interstate Properties. In addition, Eric Lahrmer, with Perspectus Architecture, helped create the dramatic space features such as the soaring ceilings that will bring in the natural light. The grand staircase and the dramatic mezzanine and outdoor patio space will serve as a backdrop for the company’s one-of-a-kind products that can only be found at Arhaus.
“The new Arhaus Flagship store at Legacy Village will elevate customers’ shopping experiences to a new level,” said Legacy Village General Manager Susan Windle. “The dramatic interior complements the distinctly Arhaus furnishings originating from every corner of the world – adding to the variety of one-of-a-kind retailers that sets Legacy Village apart in Northeast Ohio.”
Arhaus offers home furnishings for all rooms of the house inside and out, from living to dining, bedroom to office, including the company’s expanded outdoor furnishings collection and beautiful new introductions for lighting, rugs, pillows, throws and other home décor items.
